I AM EQUITABLE

Our ongoing goal is to create an inclusive environment where all staff and students feel challenged, cared for and seen in a fair and unbiased way. This involves actively addressing systemic barriers, biases, and inequities to ensure that each person is treated fairly and receives the necessary support to reach their full potential. Ultimately, equity in schools aims to create a learning community where everyone feels respected, empowered, and included.

Examples:

How can staff demonstrate Equity within student engagement.

  • Do not single students out.

  • Decorate the classroom with items related to a students  culture when relevant. (ie. Holiday)

  • Providing unique support according to individual needs so that the student may succeed.

How can students demonstrate Equity amongst their peers

  • Being Respectful to each other

  • Being considerate of others beliefs and culture.

  • Being fair with shared resources

The T.E.A.M.A.K.E.R Framework, created by June ArcaMay, is made available for use by schools and educational institutions with proper credit to the founder. Schools are encouraged to implement the framework to cultivate environments of belongingness and inclusivity, acknowledging June ArcaMay as the originator of this transformative approach. Proper attribution ensures recognition of the founder's contributions and respects the intellectual property rights associated with the framework.
